These letters, from the year 1938, are connected to the work of Walter Johannes Stein in this year. He had an office in Palace Laeken of King Leopold III of Belgium. He was asked by the king to do research on World economic. Here the idea was born for a companionship in Europe, like the European Union. These letters are a precious documentary for the fact that there have been contacts between King Leopold, Prince Bernhard and Dr. Stein on this subject (as we read in the letter of Stein from 17, October 1938).
